Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

guitar-hero-3-360-bundle1Crank up that amp because its time to rock! I just picked up Guitar Hero III a couple days ago and its been utterly addicting. The game play is fast, the songs are great (I was ecstatic when I saw Metallica’s “One” on the playlist), and there is a solid selection of modes to choose from.

I had actually attempted to learn how others played by watching several youtube clips, but instead of helping me to get better, it actually discouraged me! Some of these kids were playing the game like they were born with the guitar in their hand. Expert mode looked so easy as I watched them fret away. I have already encountered some difficulty just playing medium. I can’t imagine ever getting through expert.

MTV Guitar Hero

So far, the hardest song I’ve completed was “Raining Blood” by Slayer during The Battle for your Soul tour. Even on easy I had missed way too many notes. I’m not sure if I’ll ever perfect that song.

Now for my Pro’s and Con’s of Guitar Hero III.

Halo2 Party

Its been awhile since I’ve had time to sit down and blog. Actually its been awhile since I’ve had time to do anything really recreational. I had grades to finish and work started up again this past Tuesday. Yesterday, I finally had a day to do nothing so I gathered the guys for a Halo2 party at the house. I used to be a very hardcore gamer, but since I finished college its been tough to put in the time to get really good at any game. I used to get whooped playing the original Halo because I just didn’t have time to practice.

Things have changed a bit since then. After taking a serious beating with Halo, I made time to get decent at Halo2.

Last night I actually placed pretty good during our Free For All Battles and during Team Slayer I actually won quite a few metals. Girls love them metals! LOL. We started at noon and ended at midnight. I was exhausted and a bit drunk by the time the party was over. We also played some games online using xbconnect and that was pretty fun except that it lagged pretty badly and some of the regular clans gave us good beatings. Athough we lost those matches, we fought like men till the last life was taken. I think in time our team of 6 will win more games.

This was the first time I hosted a party and Im sure it wont be the last. Hey N8 Dogg! Watch out Screen LOOKER! muwhahahaha.

Halo2 on Xbox Connect

Xbox Connect is perhaps the best thing to come out since Napster back in the day. I cant stress the word free enough. It basically creates a game for you online as if you are playin a LAN game on your PC. I use my router to set up games via my XBOX. The great thing is that you dont pay a cent and their services are great. Users provide very quick and efficient servers. I spent 6 hours straight last night online in Halo2 Slayer and Capture the Flag tournaments. Its alot of fun. Just be sure to have the necessary equipment before installing. They also have PRO editions of the program for those who are seriously hardcore and want to support their project. Be sure to check it out if your a Halo2 fan. Almost 1,000,000 accounts already!!!

XBConnect is “Next Generation” Game Console Tunnel Software for Windows that allows you to play Microsoft XBox System link, and Sony PSP games over the internet.

No more Single Player Campaign/Career modes! With XBConnect finding players to play against is a breeze and an essential part of the XBox experience.

XBConnect acts like a bridge between your game console and the internet. Its like plugging your console into a lan that stretches around the world. Your friends can be on the other side of the planet and you can still link up for gaming fun. This is an evolving project.
