Eastbound & Down (HBO)

East Bound & Down is one of those shows that just doesn’t give a shit about anything as long as it gets a laugh. This happens to be right up my alley. I first read about the show before it started airingon HBO. It is created by Jody Hill (Foot Fist Way, Observe & Report), Will Ferrell, and Danny McBride. Anyone familiar with their brand of comedy will instantly be a fan of East Bound and Down.

Mc Bride plays the lead role as Kenny Powers, a washed up major leauge pitcher who finds himself strapped for cash and has to move back to his hometown and work at the local middle school as a substitute P.E. teacher. In his mind, Powers still believes he is a genuine superstar and he treats everyone else as if they are beneath him. The show is flat out hilarious. It may be very offensive to some people, but those who can appreciate it at face value will be able to enjoy some serious laughs.

This is by far one of the funniest shows I have seen in a long time. If there is an “asshole” reaction to a situation, you can bet that Kenny Powers chooses that option. For those who enjoy a good laugh, I recommend checking this show out.

Terrence Howard: ‘Iron Man’ replacement a surprise

LOS ANGELES – Terrence Howard says was surprised to learn that Don Cheadle would replace him in “Iron Man 2.” “It was the surprise of a lifetime,” the actor and musician told National Public Radio on Tuesday. “There was no explanation, (the contract) just up and vanished.” Howard said he read news reports that money was the issue, saying the contracts he signs apparently “aren’t worth the paper that they’re printed on sometimes.” Cheadle assumes the role of James Rhodes, a character that becomes Iron Man’s sidekick War Machine in the comics, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as weapons mogul Tony Stark. Yahoo

The Montauk Monster a water Pokemon?

Montauk Monster I’m sure that some of you have already seen this photo posted on various sites across the internet. Well, being so intuitive and smart I just had to put my two cents in. According to various sources, this creature supposedly washed ashore on the beach in Montauk which is located at the far eastern end of New York’s Long Island. Ninja Turtle sludge? Not likely.

I don’t know about you but at first glance the monster actually does looks pretty realistic. Of course I’ve been wrong before and with so many really good photoshopped hoaxes abound it really wouldn’t surprise me if that’s just what this is. A hoax. There have already been quite a few suggestions circling as to exactly what this creature might be. A dead dog, a dead sea turtle, an X-files experiment and an Alien. I don’t believe any of those theories.

Over on the Dragguam Forums many of its members have had a very unique opinion about what the monster really is. After careful consideration and research I have to agree completely. Its a genuine water Pokemon! What else could it be? So to all those folks who don’t fully understand the nature of this creature, to wake their kids and break out their water Pokemon cards.

Gotta catch them all! More on the Montauk Monster can be found at Gawker.
