I’m pretty confused about the results of the simulation between the Yakuza versus the Sicilian Mafia. Besides the raw power of the sawed off shotgun (at close range not midrange btw) I really can’t see how the Mafia had any advantage at all. Skillset wise the Yakuza trumped the the Mafia in every way. They were more disciplined, were trained in mixed martial arts, and were very precise and discrete. As the show progressed however, it was clear to see that the edge went to those weapons with pure power and overall destruction. They didn’t take into consideration the skill of the opponent or their accuracy.
What irked me the most was the ending of the simulation. How does a Mafia brawler kill the last remaining Yakuza gangster with a ice pick! Now come on! Two Japanese Sai’s versus and ice pick with the ice pick winning? In one on one combat, Yakuza wins hands down. There is no damn way a Yakuza gangster goes down to an ice pick when he has TWO weapons made specifically for disarming an opponent.
The more obvious fault on this episode was the use of the nun chucks against the bat. Why not the Katana versus the bat? We saw that Katana drawn so many times on the show yet it was never used? The katana would have cut right through any bat in close quarters and if a katana came anywhere near the dummy head it was coming off! Yes, the bat crushed the skull, but the katana would have went through the bat and right through the persons neck at the same time!
They seriously need to modify the simulations! The Yakuza should have won this matchup hands down. What did you think?
