I love my 49ers! Forever Faithful!

I’ve been a San Francisco 49ers fan since the mid-eighties. Over the last few years however, I’ve had so little to cheer about. What a difference a year can make! I am so glad Jim Harbaugh and the 49ers are finally competing again and I am sure nobody expected the 49ers to be in the playoff hunt after such a disappointing 6-10 campaign last year under Mike Singletary.

This final drive keeps playing over and over in my head. I still cant believe Alex Smith engineered it. With Hall of Fame quarterbacks Joe Montana and Steve Young to live up to, Smith put together what had to be one of the greatest 49ers 4th quarter drives ever! So stoked we have another game at the stick! Time to beat the Giants for the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP! FOREVER FAITHFUL!

Farewell Bill Walsh

tx.walsh1As a die hard fan of the 49ers franchise for over two decades, today was a very melancholic morning for me when I woke up and read that Bill Walsh had passed away just hours earlier.

The 49er legend revolutionized the sport of football with his west coast offense, and led the way for three of the franchise’s four Superbowl titles in the 1980′s.

You will be missed Mr. Walsh. My condolences go out to the Walsh family and everyone close to him. Rest in Peace.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Bill Walsh, the groundbreaking football coach who won three Super Bowls and perfected the ingenious schemes that became known as the West Coast offense during a Hall of Fame career with the San Francisco 49ers, has died. He was 75.

Walsh died early today following a long battle with leukemia, according to Stanford University, where he served as coach and athletic director.

Walsh didn’t become an NFL head coach until 47, and he spent just 10 seasons on the San Francisco sideline. But he left an indelible mark on the United States’ most popular sport, building the once-woebegone 49ers into the most successful team of the 1980s with his innovative offensive strategies and teaching techniques.

Owens is OUT!

Everyone who knows me, understands Im a die-hard 49er and Laker Fan. Well my niners and Lakers are both rebuliding and the 49ers just plain stink at 2-10 this season. Although the football season has not been a great one, in terms of my favorite team, Im still a hardcore fan of Owens so I’ve been rooting for philly most of this year. Unfortunately, T.O. maybe out for the next few games and possibly the season. Now theres nothing left to do this year but frown.

Long-suffering Eagles fans would never be so foolish to think a trip to the Super Bowl was a lock, even though their Birds are clearly the best team in the NFC this season.

“Something could still happen,” is a dreaded, but not uncommon thought among loyalists. Something did.

Star receiver Terrell Owens will miss the final two games of the regular season and the playoffs and possibly the Super Bowl because of a sprained right ankle, a devastating blow for a team that has lost three straight NFC title games.
