America’s Best Dance Crew – Season 5 Predictions

The final three crews are left and it is time for me to make my season predictions. I have never picked the winner correctly, but my choices have always been in the top three. In season order, I have chosen Kaba Modern, So Real Crew, and the Beat Freaks to take the championship, but in each season they came up a bit short. Last season, the crews were so disappointing that I actually missed most of the episodes, so I have no favorite for season four. This year however, the crews have definitely stepped it up, and I think that two of the top three crews definitely belong there.

Out of the three crews left, Im rooting for Blu Print Crew and Poreotix to make the finals. Blu Print Crew is easily the better “dance” crew overall, and if the west coast is going to fall, I think BPC is definitely the crew to dethone them. They have a great set of dancers, and are the most well rounded crew left in the top three. Poreotix on the other hand, is easily the most entertaining of the bunch. I think entertainment plays a huge factor in being a great dancer. No matter how good you are, if you can’t entertain the audience, then your skill set is worthless. Since the regionals, I felt that Poreotix would be a crew to be reckoned with and I was correct. Their ability to entertain the crowd make them a fan favorite, and it has helped them garner the votes of the viewers. They have never made the bottom two and rightfully so. The fans have spoken each and everytime despite some of the criticism from the judges.

As for Hype 5-0, I have to agree with everything Omarion has said about them. I’m a huge supporter of our island brothers and sisters, but they have not done much to improve themselves. They bring good energy, but nothing makes them stand out. I thought Jungle Boogie should have made the top three rather than Hype.

Now for my prediction. I think entertainment will trump skill set. If the judges were to vote, then BPC would win this show hands down. However, with the Canadian community being unable to vote and Poreotix being such a huge crowd pleaser, I have to go with the robotic humor and showmanship. POREOTIX FTW!

Beat Freaks FTW! (Best Dance Crew)

Last night was the start of a new season of America’s Best Dance Crew (season 3). Although I think it showcases a very unique set of dancers, they are far from the most talented pool I’ve seen on past shows. However, with that being said, I do believe that they have a couple incredible crews who should go on to win the entire thing.

Based on their debut performances last night, I have to go with Beat Freaks, Quest Crew, and Boxcuttuhz as my early favorites. Out of those three crews, if I had to pick a winner today, it would definitely go to Beat Freaks. The ladies were outstanding last night and I truly believe that they are the best representation of what females can bring to the table as hip hop dancers. In the past two seasons of ABDC, the show has been dominated by male hip hop crews and I feel that Beat Freaks have the best opportunity to change that streak. Their athleticism and skillset displayed during their debut performance was outstanding, and I will boldly announce to the world that they would rival even the best male hip hop crews in the business today, including last season’s winner Super Cr3w.

In Season One of the show I chose Kaba Modern as the favorites with Jabba as my 2nd choice. Last season, I went with So Real Cru and Fanny Pak. This year, all bets are on the ladies to win it all. Beat Freaks FTW!!!

Who do you see going all the way?

ABDC Season 2 Champions – SuperCr3w

supercrewAlthough I was rooting for SoReal Cru to win this season’s ABDC title, I can’t argue with tonight’s results. Based on last week’s performances and the consistency of the crews over the last few weeks, Super Cr3w clearly was the better of the two finalists. So without further ado, I’d like to personally congratulate SuperCr3w on a well deserved victory.

However, as a fan of the show and competition in general, I do have one question to ask all the fans. Which crew do think makes the better overall Champion? The Jabbawockeez’s or SuperCr3w. Both are powerhouse West Coast crews who seem to have a huge following of fans. Personally, I’d love to see Randy Jackson invite them both to the next season for a special championship battle. Wouldn’t you?
