Wanted (Theaters)

wanted_ver2Lets be completely honest with each other. Who needs a great storyline when you get a ton of adrenaline pumping action, some excellent humor, and most importantly, a great view of Angelina Jolie’s rear end.

Based on the a graphic novel by Mark Millar, Wanted simply put is every action fans dream come true. Sure the film was completely unrealistic and slightly predictable, but who really cares? The film was produced to entertain its audience and it delivered.

First off, I thought the casting was great. James McAvoy was perfect choice for the lead role Wesley Gibson. He portrayed the character well and I thought his character development was decent for a film which focused more on action sequences rather than its characters.

Angelina Jolie simply being in the film made this movie worth watching in theaters, and Morgan Freeman continues to put on a good performance regardless of the character he portrays.

The action sequences were phenomenal. I was really impressed with the CGI, and although much of the slow motion sequences reminded me of the Matrix and Fight Club, it worked out really well for this film. If you enjoyed movies such as 300 by Frank Miller and/or the Matrix by the Wachowski brothers, Im sure you’ll appreciate this movie. It really doesn’t get any better than this. Be prepared for quite a bit violence and vulgar language so please keep you kids at home. Its rated mature for a reason.

Synopsis:

PHBqOCGDd7GuFC_mBased upon Mark Millar’s explosive graphic novel series and helmed by stunning visualist director Timur Bekmambetov — creator of the most successful Russian film franchise in history, the Night Watch series — Wanted tells the tale of one apathetic nobody’s transformation into an unparalleled enforcer of justice. In 2008, the world will be introduced to a hero for a new generation: Wesley Gibson.

  • The Spirit (Latest Theatrical Trailer) -#

spirit_ver10Adapted from the Will Eisner's graphic novels, "The Spirit" tells the story of a man who fakes his own death and fights crime from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson) -- who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face -- has other plans. He's going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this coldhearted killer from the city's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront...all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader.

kimbo_slice_elite_xcI've been in a pick'em league over at S2 to I figured I post my selections here on the site during each mixed martial art event.

As much as I would like to see Kimbo get a loss it wont happen versus Shamrock. Shamrock's going to try and prove a point and stand and bang and he's going to eat fist. lol. Did anyone see the weigh in's for Gina Carano? She had to bear all to make weight!

    My predictions:
    Kimbo Slice - KO1
    Jake Shields-KO R2
    Andre Arlovski-KO R1
    Gina Carano- Sub R2
    Murilo "Ninja" Rua-KO R3
    Yoko - Sub R1
