Lions for Lambs (DVD)

lions_for_lambsLions for Lambs is more of a message than a movie. The film is basically Robert Redford’s attempt at a wakeup call, to get the public off their apathetic asses and realize how big a pickle the United States has put themselves in with this war going on in the Middle East.

The film is told in three main parts with a style similar to the Oscar award winning film Crash. Each section of this film is linked to each other in one way or another and slowly the audience will see it unravel itself. The film really didn’t have a solid plot, and it seemed to just move from one scene to the next without a real flow to it.

Robert Redford, Tom Cruise, and Meryl Streep all put on good performances, but none of them put out anything extraordinary. I give credit to Redford for attempting to produce a film with good intentions, but simply put, it just didn’t live up to the bill with such a top notch cast.

Synopsis:

LIONS FOR LAMBSThree stories told simultaneous in ninety minutes of real time: a Republican Senator who’s a presidential hopeful gives an hour-long interview to a skeptical television reporter, detailing a strategy for victory in Afghanistan; two special forces ambushed on an Afghani ridge await rescue as Taliban forces close in; a poli-sci professor at a California college invites a promising student to re-engage. Decisions press upon the reporter, the student, and the soldiers. SOURCE: IMDB

  2. I found it to be quite boring. I titled my review “Lions For Lambs - Roars Like A Lion But It’s Only A Lamb” because it looked so good with the well-known cast, but it was a sleeper.

  • The Spirit (Latest Theatrical Trailer) -#

spirit_ver10Adapted from the Will Eisner's graphic novels, "The Spirit" tells the story of a man who fakes his own death and fights crime from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson) -- who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face -- has other plans. He's going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this coldhearted killer from the city's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront...all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader.

kimbo_slice_elite_xcI've been in a pick'em league over at S2 to I figured I post my selections here on the site during each mixed martial art event.

As much as I would like to see Kimbo get a loss it wont happen versus Shamrock. Shamrock's going to try and prove a point and stand and bang and he's going to eat fist. lol. Did anyone see the weigh in's for Gina Carano? She had to bear all to make weight!

    My predictions:
    Kimbo Slice - KO1
    Jake Shields-KO R2
    Andre Arlovski-KO R1
    Gina Carano- Sub R2
    Murilo "Ninja" Rua-KO R3
    Yoko - Sub R1
