Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer (DVD)

fantastic_four_rise_of_the_silver_surfer_ver8The Rise of the Silver Surfer although semi-entertaining, was rather predictable and slightly bland. I thought the film was much better than the original, but it was still a poor representative for a movie that was “BILLED” as one of the summer blockbusters of this year.

The strongest point of the film was definitely the Silver Surfer. The production crew did a fantastic job bringing him to life on the bigscreen. He looked amazing, and I really like how they portrayed him in the film.

With that being said, although there were some funnies that slightly tickled my stomach, there was nothing really to go crazy over, and the plot and acting were pretty wearisome. The film was just not very good. Children will definitely get a kick out of this movie, but for most of us older folks, the discovery channel or animal planet would probably be far more entertaining.

Synopsis:

After the death of Dr.Doom the Fantastic Four think life is back to normal. Reed Richards and Sue Storm make plans to get married, but are interrupted when the Silver Surfer and Galactus show up, trying to destroy the earth and it’s up to the fantastic four to deal with them, as well as with the return of Dr. Doom.

With Von Doom back in his homeland of Latveria the fantastic four have new troubles when Galactus has decided that Earth is his next target. When his henchman, The Silver Surfer, is sent to Earth he discovers that he’s getting more than he bargained for when he encounters the Fantastic Four. But that’s not all when Dr. Doom decides that after two years in the homeland he is ready to return.

  2. When I watched this film, I kinda liked more than the previous one. Perhaps like you said, it is mainly because Silver Surfer, man, he is so cool!

  • The Spirit (Latest Theatrical Trailer) -#

spirit_ver10Adapted from the Will Eisner's graphic novels, "The Spirit" tells the story of a man who fakes his own death and fights crime from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson) -- who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face -- has other plans. He's going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this coldhearted killer from the city's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront...all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader.

kimbo_slice_elite_xcI've been in a pick'em league over at S2 to I figured I post my selections here on the site during each mixed martial art event.

As much as I would like to see Kimbo get a loss it wont happen versus Shamrock. Shamrock's going to try and prove a point and stand and bang and he's going to eat fist. lol. Did anyone see the weigh in's for Gina Carano? She had to bear all to make weight!

    My predictions:
    Kimbo Slice - KO1
    Jake Shields-KO R2
    Andre Arlovski-KO R1
    Gina Carano- Sub R2
    Murilo "Ninja" Rua-KO R3
    Yoko - Sub R1
