UFC 74:Randy Couture defies the odds…

Couture-GonzagaDespite being 44 years of age, Randy “The Natural” Couture continued to defy the age barrier by beating a younger, bigger, and supposedly stronger opponent in Gabriel Gonzaga. Although the odd-makers had favored Gonzaga prior to the fight, my money was on the legendary Couture who despite his age, was clearly the better and more experienced fighter.

Couture’s dominance was evident from the opening round where his superior body control and take downs did the most damage. Couture kept Gonzaga close to the cage and landed some serious blows which eventually lead to a crushing takedown that broke Gonzaga’s nose. From that point on, Randy was clearly in control and easily ended the fight in the 3rd round with one of his trademark ground and pound sessions.

At 44 years of age, Couture doesn’t seem to be slowing down one bit. Actually, I think he’s even better now than he was in the past. He is still clearly the most dominant fighter in the heavyweight division as far as the UFC is concerned.

I’m very curious to see who will be the next opponent for Couture. Now that Wanderlei Silva and several other household names from PrideFC have agreed to fights in the octagon, I am crossing my fingers that Fedor Emelianenko will eventually take the leap in. A matchup between Couture and Fedor would definitely be legendary and a win over Fedor would without a doubt, solidify Couture’s status as the best heavyweight champion in Mixed Martial Arts worldwide.

00Another great episode by Manswers. Every man should be getting their other half to start drinking beer daily. One full cup size from drinking something all men love? What a perfect alternative to breast implants! Start chugging away ladies! A full size "C" cup is calling your name!

  • The Spirit (Latest Theatrical Trailer) -#

spirit_ver10Adapted from the Will Eisner's graphic novels, "The Spirit" tells the story of a man who fakes his own death and fights crime from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson) -- who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face -- has other plans. He's going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this coldhearted killer from the city's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront...all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader.

kimbo_slice_elite_xcI've been in a pick'em league over at S2 to I figured I post my selections here on the site during each mixed martial art event.

As much as I would like to see Kimbo get a loss it wont happen versus Shamrock. Shamrock's going to try and prove a point and stand and bang and he's going to eat fist. lol. Did anyone see the weigh in's for Gina Carano? She had to bear all to make weight!

    My predictions:
    Kimbo Slice - KO1
    Jake Shields-KO R2
    Andre Arlovski-KO R1
    Gina Carano- Sub R2
    Murilo "Ninja" Rua-KO R3
    Yoko - Sub R1
