300 (Theaters)
If you can’t stomach blood, guts, and gore, I highly suggest you stay out of the theater. This film is not for the faint of heart. An action packed and gory film, it offers all the decapitations, carnage, monsters, and maniacs to last a lifetime. Its truly a sadists dream come true.
300 is an ode to masculinity and machismo. It’s every man’s dream film. The acting? Well they grunted, spit, flexed, sexed, screamed and yelled like they were suppose to. The women? Beautiful and exotic. How about the storyline? It was easy to follow, didn’t have many side plots or stories, and made it easy for any man to understand and enjoy. :) This film delivered.
If you were hoping for a history lesson, you won’t get it here. Stick to reading National Geographic and watching the History Channel. Now, if your out for an eye-popping, head shaking, “I can’t believe they rated this only R” experience, catch the next available screening today!
Synopsis:
Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller, ‘300′ is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian army. Facing insurmountable odds, their valor and sacrifice inspire all of Greece to unite against their Persian enemy, drawing a line in the sand for democracy. The film brings Miller’s acclaimed graphic novel to life by combining live action with virtual backgrounds that capture his distinct vision of this ancient historic tale.

Reggie, you got to see it. Not as cartoonish as you think.
Hmm… only been seeing the ads for this over in Europe and I have to tell you it looks like I’d be watching a video game the way the movie is done. Not sure I’m eager to see it at all.

I never thought that a movie that preferred style over substance would be so memorable. Usually movies like that are cool then quickly fade from memory. Love this movie!
This is one of the movies that I’m looking forward to watching. Just from the trailer, I know that it’s gonna be good. :D
I saw the movie yesterday and I’m probably gonna see it again today. The effects are awesome, the gore incredible, storyline great. One of my favorite scenes is when the Spartans are bombarded with arrows from the Persians and they start laughing because of the comment made earlier, “We will fight in the shade.” Dude, talk about fotte. Awesome Movie!

Truly beautiful movie to watch. The visual style was awesome and the casting was excellent. This movie is not for everyone. I personally wasn’t set off from the obvious comic-style dialogue. I found it refreshing.
I am planning on seeing it this week. I really like history based movies even if it doesn’t exactly follow the story word for word, or action by action. Nice to see a site that does a review on something. Thank you for your comment btw :) I like the Home & Garden shows on HGTV myself, they’re fabulous.
