The Great Challenge (DVD)

The Great Challenge

The Great Challenge could have been much better film if it had a decent plot and script. The actual storyline was too simple and it lacked the complexity to make it a good action film.

Although there are only a handful of action scenes, they were staged very well and were quite exciting to watch. The opening sequence was one of my favorites along with a scene that takes place among bamboo scaffolds. Many of their moves are reminiscent of Jackie Chan’s stunts, and I think that if these actors were given a chance in a better movie, they would fair well with their overall abilities.

Although the action was great, the dialogue was very cheesy. I can’t really explain it, but it reminded me quite a bit of the dialogue between the the power rangers and their enemies. It was pretty corny.

Although I thought that the action was decent, I just can’t recommend it as a movie to view. If there is anything remotely more interesting the next time you rent a DVD, I’d advise that you skip this film altogether.

The sequel to the popular 2001 French production YAMASAKI is set in the mean streets of Bangkok, where our seven heroes have traveled in order to teach their techniques to a younger generation. They encounter resistance, however, in the form of a Japanese yakuza family and their Thai associates who are attempting to take over the city.

  2. Haven’t been to your site in sometime. Nice layout. Can’t say that this movie came out in the US. It sounds like it would have sucked bad if it did make the big screen here. Thanks for the warning. LOL

  • The Spirit (Latest Theatrical Trailer) -#

spirit_ver10Adapted from the Will Eisner's graphic novels, "The Spirit" tells the story of a man who fakes his own death and fights crime from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson) -- who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face -- has other plans. He's going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this coldhearted killer from the city's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront...all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader.

kimbo_slice_elite_xcI've been in a pick'em league over at S2 to I figured I post my selections here on the site during each mixed martial art event.

As much as I would like to see Kimbo get a loss it wont happen versus Shamrock. Shamrock's going to try and prove a point and stand and bang and he's going to eat fist. lol. Did anyone see the weigh in's for Gina Carano? She had to bear all to make weight!

    My predictions:
    Kimbo Slice - KO1
    Jake Shields-KO R2
    Andre Arlovski-KO R1
    Gina Carano- Sub R2
    Murilo "Ninja" Rua-KO R3
    Yoko - Sub R1
