I want to apologize for the lack of updates. Alot of things have been happening the past couple weeks, and I’ve been doing my best to micromanage my time. Its seems that twenty four hours is just not enough time to do anything anymore. Lately I’ve been lacking sleep. That itself has caused so much stress on my body. You know this from the previous post I wrote almost a week ago.

I’ve also been extremely busy with school. They have all these new forms to fill out daily for accountability, and its been a hassle trying to remember what needs to be filled out and what I filled out already. For those of you who dont know, I teach fourth grade, and our school system has implemented Direct Instruction. This is basically what Direct Instruction is:

The term “Direct Instruction” refers to a rigorously developed, highly scripted method for teaching that is fast-paced and provides constant interaction between students and the teacher.

It seems to be working so far for the children who need to be guided through the basics of reading, language, and math but the process is a lot more rigorous than conventional teaching. What is great about the program, is that it forces ALL teachers to be accountable for their teaching, but the paperwork is unreal. I’m not the most organized person, so you can imagine the difficultly I’ve been having with keeping all my documents in order.
