Instinctive Driving?

Tags: ,

I was driving home from the gym the other day and I ended up somewhere I wasn’t suppose to be at. It was really funny because I was concentrating on the road, but my head must have seriously been somewhere else. I own a 5 speed tC because the shifting keeps me awake in the car. If I drove a automatic, I think I would fall asleep. Seriously. Driving makes me sleepy. To keep me awake I also blast my music with my windows down and play some serious gangsta rap or rock music. It helps me keep focus on the road for long periods of time.

Anyway, the route I take involves a thirty to thirty-five minute drive to get homebound. This time however, it took me fourty-five. Why? I drove to my old condo. lol. I dont know what was going on in this brain of mine, but I literally pulled into the condominiums I moved out of almost a year ago. It was funny because I made all the turns, slowed down, pulled my car into my old parking space and stopped. It wasn’t until I turned off my vehicle that I realized that I didn’t live there anymore. I sat there for a good two or three minutes laughing at myself before I turned the car back on and headed home.

The mind works in funny ways sometimes. Maybe it sensed my exhaustion and led me back to the last place it instinctively remembers as home. lol.

  1. Funny how the mind works, and how sometimes you do things without even realizing. Like when you keep writing 2005 on your papers when it’s 2006, or when you throw the trash to the right of you, then remember that you moved your trash can to the left yesterday.

Great layout, by the way. :)

  4. Hahaha, the mind is indeed a wonderful thing. I saw something like this in an episode of ‘The Monk’, he wasn’t aware that is was the anniversary of the first time he met his departed wife, but he went to their old house and started to prepare her favorite dish. Until the true owners of the house called in the police and took away Detective Monk. With the help of a psychiatrist he was able to fix this memory problem. :D

Well, just always be careful when you’re on the road.

  5. Yea, I’ve been guilty of that one before…you can’t help but laugh at yourself though, I suppose! At least you weren’t taking your wife back to an ex-girlfriend’s houe…now THAT would have made a great blog entry :)

  6. Ian: If something like that did happen, I probrably wouldnt be writing about ANYTHING on this blog anytime soon.

jhay: I am careful on the road… Just my mind made me drive somewhere else thinking I was going home!

  7. that’s quite interesting. it’s a good thing though that you still drived carefully and arrived your destination safely even though it wasn’t the intended one. hehe.

  8. I normally am a careful driver. When I drive on a big road with no cars, thats when its time to worry a bit!

  • The Spirit (Latest Theatrical Trailer) -#

spirit_ver10Adapted from the Will Eisner's graphic novels, "The Spirit" tells the story of a man who fakes his own death and fights crime from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson) -- who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face -- has other plans. He's going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this coldhearted killer from the city's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront...all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader.

kimbo_slice_elite_xcI've been in a pick'em league over at S2 to I figured I post my selections here on the site during each mixed martial art event.

As much as I would like to see Kimbo get a loss it wont happen versus Shamrock. Shamrock's going to try and prove a point and stand and bang and he's going to eat fist. lol. Did anyone see the weigh in's for Gina Carano? She had to bear all to make weight!

    My predictions:
    Kimbo Slice - KO1
    Jake Shields-KO R2
    Andre Arlovski-KO R1
    Gina Carano- Sub R2
    Murilo "Ninja" Rua-KO R3
    Yoko - Sub R1
