A Feast for Crows
Title: A Feast for Crows
Series: A Song of Ice and Fire
Author: George R. R. Martin
Publisher: Spectra (November 8, 2005)
Hardcover: 784 pages
ISBN: 0553801503
I have officially caught up with the entire Song of Ice and Fire series as of today. This is a good thing in one way, and not so good in another. I’ll start with the bad first. I hate waiting for the next book to come. It happened with the Wheel of Time and now it will happen with this series. Since I just started reading this saga October of last year, it was easy for me just to fly through all the books one after the next. I didnt have to wait a few years for the next installment to be published. It was all accessible. Now I have to wait like everyone else for book five, A Dance of Dragons. Im pretty sure I will have to ask to borrow all the books again so that I can refresh my memory just before the book is released. (Kalani, did you get that? haha)
The good news is that I’ve been reading like a madman again. I took a break from reading and I really feel that books really stimulate the mind much better than my computer or television. So, the past couple months its been non-stop. Now I just have to figure out what I need to read next to pass the time.
On with the review. This book was actually kinda slow compared to the rest of the series, hence my four star rating. Im not saying it was bad, (Its far better than half the fantasy novels I have read) but after reading the Storm of Swords, expectations were very high. The book focused on Kings Landing and the Trident so it left out many of my favorite characters. A Dance of Dragons will re-introduced many of my favorite characters like Jon Snow and Bran Stark. This was the main reason why it took me a bit longer to read. A Feast for Crows did provide alot of forshadowing as to what was going to happen next, so Im highly anticipating the release of book five.
Current Favorite Characters: Jaime Lannister
