Serenity (DVD)

I honestly was not sure what to expect when I watched this film. I heard that it was based off the Sci-Fi series Firefly, but I never caught any of their episodes. Prior to watching Serenity, Star Wars was the only sci-fi movie that I really enjoyed from start to finish. Well, I can now add Serenity to that short list of exceptional sci-fi films. I personally enjoyed this film from beginning to end. It was a success in everyway. The plot was coherent and original, the acting was done very well, and it had just the right amount of action, humor, and drama. It definately was not a boring film. This is a movie worth a spot in your DVD library. Pick it up.

The crew of the Serenity is getting desperate. They have lain lower and lower to protect their doctor, Simon Tam (Sean Maher), and his telepathic traumatized little sister, River (Summer Glau), from the alliance, whom he rescued her from a year earlier. This has made getting jobs harder and now they are desperate. When they take River on a robbery during which Reavers (humans who have gone crazy and turned into cannibals) attack, Simon decides that its time to leave the crew of the Serenity for his and River’s safety. She then mutters “Miranda” and goes berserk and nearly shoots Capt. Malcolm Reynolds (Nathan Fillion), until her brother says the safety word to put her to sleep. Reynolds decides to take them back on board for safety, only now an alliance operative (Chiwetel Ejiofor) is on their tracks and making Reynolds determined to find out what “Miranda” is and what the Alliance is hiding.

  1. The Firefly series and the movie Serenity are awesome! It’s just so sad that the series was yanked so early.

  3. Like you, I never caught any episodes of Firefly, nor did I have any expectations of this film before watching it. And it blew me away. Beyond the movie being great, the DVD was well-built, making it a great buy.

  6. After watching the movie, I wanted to see the series to get more background. I know that all DVDs related to this property have been selling like hotcakes. The TV network guys that ended the show prematurely must be crying right now.

00Another great episode by Manswers. Every man should be getting their other half to start drinking beer daily. One full cup size from drinking something all men love? What a perfect alternative to breast implants! Start chugging away ladies! A full size "C" cup is calling your name!

spirit_ver10Adapted from the Will Eisner's graphic novels, "The Spirit" tells the story of a man who fakes his own death and fights crime from the shadows of Central City. The Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson) -- who kills anyone unfortunate enough to see his face -- has other plans. He's going to wipe out the entire city. The Spirit tracks this coldhearted killer from the city's rundown warehouses, to the damp catacombs, to the windswept waterfront...all the while facing a bevy of beautiful women who either want to seduce, love or kill the masked crusader.

kimbo_slice_elite_xcI've been in a pick'em league over at S2 to I figured I post my selections here on the site during each mixed martial art event.

As much as I would like to see Kimbo get a loss it wont happen versus Shamrock. Shamrock's going to try and prove a point and stand and bang and he's going to eat fist. lol. Did anyone see the weigh in's for Gina Carano? She had to bear all to make weight!

    My predictions:
    Kimbo Slice - KO1
    Jake Shields-KO R2
    Andre Arlovski-KO R1
    Gina Carano- Sub R2
    Murilo "Ninja" Rua-KO R3
    Yoko - Sub R1
