The Brothers Grimm (DVD)

The Brothers Grimm had some great costumes and the sets were well designed. Thats about as good as The Brothers Grimm got. It was a very strange film and much of the storyline confused me. Actually, I wasnt really sure what direction the movie was taking until the last 30 minutes of so. The story was also extemely slow paced and the acting was just horrible. Where the heck did they get those French accents?

I consider Matt Damon a very talented actor. I’ve enjoyed quite a few of his films. But in this movie, the talent was basically non-existent. Im not too sure if this was the right cast for this of film. Im not even sure this film should ever have been cast period. The acting was just extremly poor and no one gave a good performance. I was not impressed at all. This is one film that I think most people could skip even if it were a free viewing. Its a waste of 90+ minutes.

Folklore collectors and con artists, Jake and Will Grimm, travel from village to village pretending to protect townsfolk from enchanted creatures and performing exorcisms. They are put to the test, however, when they encounter a real magical curse in a haunted forest with real magical beings, requiring genuine courage.

I actually went the whole way and watched it in theaters a while back. Usually the fake fantasy thing is for me, and don’t get me wrong I enjoyed it although yeah there did seem to be a lot missing that left us all confused or trying to catch up.

I did think the witch girl was hot though. :/

I am going to have to agree with you here, the movie was a waste of money (I actually went to the teather) not sure if I would even consider it a rental.

Being as how Netflix has the becomes the most wonderful thing, I’ve gone ahead and added that to my collection and so I’ll respond with a feedback in regards to the movie. I’ve heard decent reviews about it.

By the way, great place you’ve established yourself here.

Saw this at Blockbuster and would have rented it if it wasn’t out. Good thing it was out. I was able to pick up “The Island” and “Rebound” though. I just returned “Serenity”. Pretty cool sci-fi in the space cowboy theme.

Lol, that’s ironic, I am literally just getting ready to watch it on DVD right now at my mom’s house. I’ll blog about it when I’m finished and trackback here.

Sadly, my wife and I actually went to the movie theatre and paid to see it. Based on trailers which made the special effects look cool.

The guy was in this movie and now has moved on to Brokeback Mountain. Wow.

I agree with you completely, trench. The Talented Mr. Ripley had absolutely no talent in this movie. Even Matt Damon’s debut movie was better than The Brothers Grimm. What were they thinking?

I’m glad we passed on this if it’s that bad. When I first saw the trailer for it, I had high hopes because it seemed like an interesting story.
