The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (Theaters)

chronicles_of_narnia_the_lion_the_witch_and_the_wardrobe_ver4I read the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe back when I was still in elementary school. It was actually the first book that captivated my imagination. After reading that, I completed the entire series of books by C.S. Lewis within a couple weeks. When I found out Disney was making a movie, I knew that I had to see it. I’ve watched the cartoon and the public television special but neither of the films came close to what I saw on the big screen today.

The acting was very well done. I thought they chose the best actors possible for this film. The special effects are on a totally different level and have set new standards for film. I was pretty blown away. Since I read the book, I kept my eye on little details, and Disney was on the mark everytime. This film is a must see for everyone. I would suggest you read the book before watching the film if you can. The book is not very long, and I think it will definately benefit you before watching the movie.

Based on the classic novel by CS Lewis. Four London children are sent to a professors country home in order for protection during World War II. There they find a magic wardrobe which leads to a mystical land called Narnia, which is being ruled by an evil witch. To defeat the Witch, they must join forces with Aslan, the lion God of Narnia, and the great battle between good and evil.

Hisyam, I read the book. You’ll know much more if you did. Narnia is not in the wardrobe. The wardrobe is simply a gateway to Narnia. There are many other ways if you ever decide to read all the books. 7 books total, means a max of 6 more sequels to it.

I’ve seen it at the cinema a couple of weeks ago i think. Although it’s a great movie i must say that i didn’t really enjoy it.
***************************SPOILER***************************

The last battle ended really quick. It seems like a child war. Come on….their first attack was not by using arrows?
Where did the White Witch come from? Why is she the only one that can use magic? (Yes I know she’s a witch, but it is Narnia)
Why on earth is there Narnia inside the closet?
These questions seems stupid just because…i don’t read the book.

***************************END SPOILER***************************

Hopefully there’ll be a sequel?

I cannot WAIT to see this movie. I’ve never read the book, but I’ve seen the other movie, one that was aired on PBS a while back… I actually had to watch it for my religious studies class because of the religious undertones. Kris and I were going to see it, but we are going to wait until I get paid again on the 23rd of Dec., and then we are going to take my family out to see it then, right before Christmas Eve. Hey Trench, how is everything going over at your in-laws?

Ahhh, Aslan has landed. Finally. Not so in Europe, yet but he will be with us shortly. I finished all the books now and am well prepared to watch this spectacle!

I shall enter Narnia soon!
