Lesnar slaps other heavyweight’s in the FACE!

55447Its finally official. On November 15th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada, Randy “The Natural” Couture will make his return debut in the octagon against former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar.

Personally I think this matchup is a slap in the face to other heavyweights in the division. Yes I realize that Brock has beaten Heath Herring via decision. Kudos to him. But has everyone forgotten his loss to Frank Mir in the first round via submission? Mir was clearly the better fighter in that bout and that was proved after he applied the kneebar to a “rookie” in MMA.

Although I agree that Brock stacks up well against most of the heavyweights in the UFC, I still think that he should fight a few more contenders before he is given a shot at the title. What about Mir? Nogueira? Werdum? Gonzaga? Are these fighters not worthy opponents for him?

Yet, it’s hard to argue against this card when considering the profit margin this fight will undoubtedly rake in come November. Mixed Martial Arts fans as well as wrestling fans will be sure to tune into this event billed as the biggest MMA fight ever. Even Dana White himself admits it:

Tito Ortiz and Jenna Jameson are having a Baby

JennaJamesonAccording to various sources throughout the web, retired porn star Jenna Jameson and ex-UFC champ Tito Ortiz have be in preparing for their first child. These same sources have also reported that Jenna had been wanting a child for a very long time and had supposedly canceled several work related plans in preparation for her baby’s arrival.

The retired porn queen is pregnant with the baby of her boyfriend, UFC champ Tito Ortiz. “She had a bunch of meetings and things planned for Fashion Week, including meetings for her own line, but she’s postponed everything,” said our source. “She’s completely thrilled, this is something she’s wanted for a very long time.”

While browsing articles on this rumor, I stumbled across some extremely negative comments about her pregnancy which I found disturbing and uncalled for. The fact of the matter is that Jenna was blessed with the chance to raise a child and has embraced that opportunity. I honestly respect the fact that Jameson has embraced the gift of motherhood and is ready to move on with her life to start a family. I really hate it when people judge you based on your past life and convictions. Instead, I’d like to congratulate both Ortiz and Jameson and wish their child a happy and healthy life. Cheers.

The worlds best pound for pound fighter?

BJ-PennIt has been debated widely throughout the Mixed Martial Arts World as to who is the worlds top MMA fighter. After an impressive knockout win over James “The Sandman” Irvin in UFC Fight Night 14, many believe that Anderson “The Spider” Silva is the best pound for pound fighter in the world. Although I agree that Silva is without a doubt the best middleweight in the world, he has yet to prove to me that he’s the best pound for pound fighter in the world.

Silva, although incredibly successful in the middleweight ranks, has never held a title in any other weight division. “The Prodigy” BJ Penn and “The Natural” Randy Couture are the only fighters who can stake claim to titles in two weight classes in the UFC. With Couture vacating his heavyweight title and leaving the organization, Penn now reigns supreme.

Penn currently holds wins over such notables as Takanori Gomi, Matt Serra, Renzo Gracie, and Caol Uno and has beaten former UFC Champions Jens Pulver (155), Sean Sherk (155), Matt Hughes (170), and Joe Stevenson (155). Penn was even willing to step up and fight light heavyweight Lyoto Machida who is still considered one of the best at 205 although being clearly outweighed by nearly 35 pounds.
