The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (Trailer)

The trailer looks amazing. I cant wait until this is released next year! Love it!

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” follows title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakensheild. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers. Although their goal lies to the East and the wastelands of the Lonely Mountain first they must escape the goblin tunnels, where Bilbo meets the creature that will change his life forever … Gollum. Here, alone with Gollum, on the shores of an underground lake, the unassuming Bilbo Baggins not only discovers depths ofguile and courage that surprise even him, he also gains possession of Gollum’s “precious” ring that holds unexpected and useful qualities … A simple, gold ring that is tied to the fate of all Middle-earth in ways Bilbo cannot begin to know.

American Horror Story (FX)

American Horror Story is perhaps one of the most disturbing and creepy television shows I’ve seen in awhile. The unexpected plot twists and “WTF” moments definitely keep you on the edge of you seat and wanting to know more. Every character has a different story to tell, and the relationships between each one of them keep the audience interested and engaged as the series moves forward.

As the season has progressed however, I have noticed that it is slowly losing it edge. I don’t know why exactly, but the plot and story line have seemed to become more predictable, and the “shock” factor is not anywhere near the same as it was earlier in the season. Perhaps they are already running out of ideas. Despite its flaws, the series has hooked me deep enough to see this season to its conclusion. I am truly hoping for as strong finish because it definitely has the potential to be great.

American Horror Story follows the Harmon family, a family of three who have moved from Boston to LA for a fresh start but end up living in a sinister haunted house instead. From producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk comes the intriguing, erotic and scary story of life within the haunted house.

Merlin (Syfy Imagine Greater)

I’ve been keeping up with the Merlin series on BBC since its inception back in 2008 and I’ve been hooked since. Alot of people give the series flack for not following the more “traditional” Arthurian legend, but I’ve actually enjoyed this modernized version of it. The cast is good if not superb, and I really think this series is geared with the entire family in mind. If you have not caught the series yet, I highly recommend that you catch it on Netflix before watching Season 4 which is set to be released in the USA on the SyFy Channel January 6,2012.

Synopsis (syfy):

Merlin is a drama series which updates the story of the infamous sorcerer of Arthurian legend for a new audience.

The mythical city of Camelot, in a time before history began. A fantastical realm of legendary beasts and mysterious peoples. A dangerous world in which magic has been banned by the ruthless tyrant, Uther Pendragon. When Merlin, a young man gifted with extraordinary magical powers, arrives in the kingdom, he quickly makes enemies, including the heir to Uther’s crown, the headstrong Prince Arthur.

But guided by Uther’s wise physician, Gaius, Merlin is soon using his talents not just to survive but also to unlock Camelot’s mystical secrets. As he does so, he discovers that his destiny and that of the kingdom’s young leader in waiting, Arthur, are inextricably linked.

Starring Colin Morgan as Merlin, Bradley James as Prince Arthur, Anthony Head as King Uther, Richard Wilson as Gaius, Katie McGrath as Morgana and Angel Coulby as Gwen, Merlin is an imaginative and enthralling new twist on a legend that is as old as time.
