I thought it was Fern Gully meets G.I. Joe, but it was consistent in movement--there was never a dull moment. I thought it was well-balanced in themes; the plot didn't dwell too much on the romance or the action, etc. I think it's a sign of things to come with 3D. I loved it! The vehicles in Avatar were very Halo-esque...some of them looked like they were lifted right out of the game. The visuals were stunning, but the story was predictable. Afterwards my husband commented that the story was the same basic one that was told in 10,000 BC. I agree that the plot was a bit lacking and unoriginal, but it more than made up for it with the overall creative presentation of the movie. Pandora is an amazing world and Cameron does a solid job of giving life to his vision. Its not so much the story that is the highlight rather it is HOW Cameron tells his story. This movie also has some of the best, most natural looking 3-d I've ever seen. Great film that is definitely worth watching. Finally checked this one out.
