If you love a gore fest and are a fan of historical warriors, this may be the show for you. Deadliest Warrior is Spike TV’s latest attempt at reality television. In this series, two of history’s most dangerous and notorious warriors are pitted against each other in computer generated one on one combat.
Experts from each art who have backgrounds in the weaponry and history of these warriors are selected to help run various tests using multiple forms of the latest cutting edge technology. At the end of these tests, the data collected is inputted in a computer where a simulated battle takes place and the winner of the contest is decided based on 1000 computer generated fights.
So far, Spike has released two episodes successful episodes. The first pitted the Apache versus Gladiator while the second pitted the Samurai versus Viking. So far, my predictions have been perfect with both the Apache and Samurai beating their respective competition. I’m on the verge of going 3-0 today if my pick takes out his latest rival.
Tonight’s episode features the spartan versus the ninja. Growing up I was a huge fan of the ninja, but against a spartan, I don’t think he’ll stand a chance. As much as I love my Asian ancestry, I have to go with the Spartan to win this one. The ninja is definitely more stealthy and deceptive, but in one and one combat, I think the spartan will just overwhelm a ninja with his strength and selection of weapons. Who do you think is the deadliest warrior? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

I’m going with the GREEN BARET!! HOO RAH!!! Seems the simulation weighs on overall firepower and destruction rather than skillset.. I still think the Yakuza would whoop a mafia member hands down in one on one combat. I can’t believe an ice pick was enough to beat two sai’s and a fully trained martial artist.
Damn the yakuza lost??? WTF! I crashed out before the end but I picked the YAK to take it. Not so sure about Spetz vs. Green Beret but I think youre right Trench. Its all about weapons damage and nothing to do with skills or training. Weapons can only take you so far, skills play a much bigger part. I also agree with whoever mentioned the environment. That plays a huge part in how they fight and the tactics used. I still love the show but it’s nowhere near being accurate.

Deadliest warrior between Green Beret and spetsnaz one word.

I am sorry to say that I just watched the bull-crap of Green Beret vs
spetsnaz, are they for real, spetsnaz soldiers bigger than American GIs. Its common knowledge that the average russian soldier is around
4-6 inches shorter than their American conterparts. Ask any rifle collector of any kind of stature and they will tell you east-block
weopons feel like they are desighned for midgets. That being said what are they even thinking? Our Green Berets are mainly trained to arm and train other soldiers to fight their own wars,not fight their battles for them. If your going to put such an important battle in the minds of millions of your own countrymen pick a team thats trained to kill, simple. How about the dirty communists at spike re-do

I was a really big fan of the show until tonight when I and millions
of other pride hearted American soldiers and citizens watched in disgust as your show took a reasonably hot button issue and gave the
russians some good propaganda against the greatest Nation in the world. I understand that it has to be put through your computer a thousand times to try every possible outcome. The only thing that the American people can take as a good thing is that even with completly
different trained squads our Green Berets only lost by 8 battles.

U.S.Army SF vs.Soviet/Russian Spetsnaz is like comparing apples to oranges. Spetsnaz were created to assault political/logistic/command and control targets behind enemy lines. Masters of hand to hand combat and Resiliant,tough and brutal.(Where was the Spetz throwing shovel?) The Green Berets have these capabilities also, but if you needed to conduct a SUSTAINED and covert campaign that left a lot of enemy dead on their own ground or intellegence collection I would give the tactical edge to them. Very close to call, they both are exremely good at their core strengths,but SF overall more effective.

Not too sure about the nitty gritty technical differences between the two, but it wouldve been cool to see the green beret spar with the spetznaz dude. I love the US of A as much as the next guy, but the russians were straight up hilarious! I thought they had way more character than the Green beret experts on the show.
The part where the tester was just slugging the spetznaz guy repeatedly in the gut was awesome!
Finally next week were back to some one on one stuff. Shaolin Monk FTW!

deadliest warrior is the best. just watched the episode of moari vs shoilin monk. cant beleive the monk won. i figured he would lose cuz they are trained more for defence. but i must admit the chain whip thing was pretty dope :p

to larry pennington. seriously dude it’s just a show. besides they run that simulation 1000 times and its all by chance. im sure if they ran it another 1000 times they would get completely different outcomes. spike is a channel desined to entertain guys and in my opinion deadliest warrior does exactly that. so dont take it personaly.

@ Trench- Maybe i’m a sellout to my island bruthas, but I had the Shaolin Monk FTW. I didn’t think he’d pull it out since the edge in weapons kept going to the Maori, but those twin hooks were just vicious!! Its good to finally see technique and training play a factor in these.
Next week I’m going with Braveheart also. Maybe we can get a Genghis khan vs. Alexander the Great next…
