Fantastic review! I agree how the preview was rather misleading (big surprise...stupid hollywood marketing departments rarely get this right!) which really was a disservice to the film. "the story manages to maintain tension throughout" - I couldn't have agreed more. I think the reason why Valkyrie is received as the sleeper hit of this season is because no one expected the lost art of good ol' fashioned timing and pacing to be present in such a top-billed film. On another note: the roles were played very well considering that these fantastic veteran actors were skilled enough to know not to overpower each other, but to tone down their talents for the camera and rely more on each other's performances instead of just the headliner's. I can’t believe I turned this movie down for The Spirit. Haven’t seen it yet though but I think I’ll wait till DVD. I don’t know…first he’s a samurai now he’s a nazi? Next thing you know he’s an alien….oh wait…isn’t he?

I’m going to Twit this entry. Good review. I wanted to take my mother to go and see this when I visited her, but I never got around to it. I took my brother to go and see The Spirit instead. I think the hubby and I might go and see that soon.
