Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (S1)

After such a huge disappointment with T3 : Rise of the Machines, I had my doubts about the success of this series. To completely honest with you, I had skipped the entire season believing it would be dropped within a year.

Last month however, I got word that a second season was underway and it caught my attention enough to warrant a DVD screening. By episode 3, “The Turk” I was completely hooked. For the next few hours I watched the rest of the series continuously until I had completed all nine episodes. Not only was Terminator : The Sarah Connor Chronicles entertaining, it had to be one of the best sci-fi television series I had watched in years. It was so good in fact that I have already set aside time for the premiere of Season 2 which debuts later this evening on Fox.

If you haven’t checked this series out yet, I suggest you take some time to view all the full episodes on Fox on Demand. This series hasn’t disappointed me yet and has been worth my time so far. The casting is great, the character development excellent, and the plot engaging and suspenseful. If I must take the shallow route, just be sure to check out Lena Headey and Summer Glau. Talk about some serious eye candy. How can a mom who is under so much stress look so damn good? And even nuttier, How can a cyborg we know is a cyborg still be so damn sexy!! haha.

I’m curious to see if having women as leading characters is a trend that will last or increase in frequency (and what terrible sentence structures I might come up with in the future). Anyway, my dad doesn’t read books written by women (for what that’s worth).

Sounds kinda sexist dont you think? It really doesn’t matter whos the lead role. As long as the story is good, I’m watching it.

As I mentioned, Im a Ayer fan. Its easy for me to like his films.

@Film – you wish Summer was your girlfriend! LOL She’s hot. At least in this film she is.

@AsceticMonk – You need to watch the rest of it. It gets pretty good after episode 3. Starts off slow at the beginning.

@Film – I watched all Blade the Series before Spike axed it. I wrote a post on Blade a long long time ago!! haha

  • God damn you Trench. I was going to do a Sarah Conner post today. Oh well, great minds think alike I guess(I might have to use that Summer pic in my post. It’s cool). I’m glad you like my girlfriend Summer Glau. “My girl’s got a girlfriend” and its Lena Headey. Its so sweet watching them f…um, never mind. Anyway., I watched this show since the first to episodes were leaked on the net last June or July. By the way, the first episode was a little better before Fox altered it before airing. I’m glad you are on board with Sarah Connor now. Now do a search on my site for Blade: The Series then go rent it. I you like Sarah you’ll love Blade. Its a god damn shame that show wasn’t re-upped. It was brutal and surprisingly bloody.

I watched a couple episodes and then decided to drop it because I could not get into it. Personally, I find it repetitive, nothing new and refreshing.

  • I know Summer isn’t the hottest girl in the world but her bod is on point.

I was right there watching Blade every week also. I’ll look up your Blade post when I get back from the gym. Delts and Abs today. Oh the pain, oh the reward.

  • I’ll be very curious to see how Miss Manson plays into all this. I’m a huge fan of the band Garbage, but let’s see if she can act and how the writers work her into the story. Last season definitely started a bit slow, but built nicely. Hopefully they can keep the momentum rolling!

I absolutely contemplated watching this, but I don’t know something about it seems to me that it can’t have any longevity without being monotonous and I already have Lost in my life to jerk me around.

@C – Season 2 just started and it looks to be another promising season. The least you could do is pick up the DVD, check out the 9 episodes and make your decision from there. I tried watching LOST.. bleh!

  • Great to read. I will have to get my hands on it.

I’ve started watching the first episode on TV once. Lost track of what the hell was going on and stopped watching. I might be biased though, I’m not a frequent TV series fan.

Is it me, or is S2 becoming boring? I think I may stop watching
