This was my very first experience watching a featured film in an IMAX theater and I must say I was extremely impressed. The screen was incredible towering six stories tall and eighty feet wide. Even more amazing was the quality of sound and seating arrangement. The IMAX is the King of all movie theaters.
Kung Fu Panda was one of Dreamworks best animated features to date. The storyline was simple but executed very well and the movie exceeded all my expectations. The scenery was rich and colorful, the action sequences were smooth and crisp, and all the voice over actors and actresses were perfect for their characters.
The music in the film was also very tasteful and I really appreciated the attention to detail the animators put into not only the characters but the scenic backgrounds as well. This is definitely a film for everyone to see. Prepare for awesomeness.
Synopsis:
Enthusiastic, big and a little clumsy, Po is the biggest fan of Kung Fu around…which doesn’t exactly come in handy while working every day in his family’s noodle shop. Unexpectedly chosen to fulfill an ancient prophecy, Po’s dreams become reality when he joins the world of Kung Fu and studies alongside his idols, the legendary Furious Five — Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper and Monkey — under the leadership of their guru, Master Shifu. But before they know it, the vengeful and treacherous snow leopard Tai Lung is headed their way, and it’s up to Po to defend everyone from the oncoming threat. Can he turn his dreams of becoming a Kung Fu master into reality? Po puts his heart – and his girth – into the task, and the unlikely hero ultimately finds that his greatest weaknesses turn out to be his greatest strengths. Source: Movie Web

I’ve watched about 5 movies in IMAX and I agree, it’s a great experience! As for Kung Fu Panda, it looks like Dreamworks may be catching up to Pixar in terms of overall presentation. Pixar is still king, but the gap is closing!
I had a great laugh watching this movie. I do find the some of the dialogues especially amusing.
