Saw this on DVD the other day. Love how they integrated a lot of elements from the cartoon. The Wachowski bros did a good job here and felt it was worth my time. They are huge anime fans, so I am wondering if they can pitch for another adaptation in the future.

@Film - I heard its fantastic on HD Blue Ray. So if you got it, try it with that with all the surround sound! Its pure EYE CANDY!

After watching the first 7 minutes of this film, I made my mind to skip this movie, because the car racing sequence made me a bit dizzy. Now that I read your review, I am hesitating whether to watch it, especially that there is an IMAX theater few blocks away from where I live.
