According to the Los Angeles times, Kobe Bryant has officially won the NBA’s Most Valuable Player award for the 2007-2008 season.
It took 12 seasons, but Kobe Bryant has finally been selected the NBA’s most valuable player, The Times has learned.
Sources familiar with the outcome who were not authorized to speak publicly about the award until the official announcement from the league said Commissioner David Stern will be in Los Angeles next week to present the trophy to Bryant.
I wrote a short article on why Bryant should be this years MVP. Congratulations Mr. Bryant!!! Now its time to bring a title home to your fans!

It is definitely well-deserved for Kobe to win the MVP THIS season.
But I wonder why so many people say “Finally…” When has he really deserved it before this season?
We could argue all day why or why not he deserved it in prior seasons. MVP is MOST VALUABLE PLAYER to the team. Everyone has their own definition to this. So… yeah.. for me its finally…..
Sure. But you can make the same argument for let’s say…Joe Johnson. Great stats. MOST VALUABLE PLAYER on his team. So why isn’t he MVP? Let me guess…barely made the playoffs? Below average to average team? Not enough wins?
I think you get my point.
So much for that championship though ;)
