Noooo! Kaba Modern in the bottom TWO!

Yuri TagIt was a very tough night for the final four crews on America’s Best Dance Crew. Taking on a Broadway musical and giving it a hip hop feel was extremely difficult, and although all four teams tried their best, I saw hardly anything Broadway about their performances at all.

By the end of the show, we witnessed fan favorite Yuri Tag of Kaba Modern full of tears because of a mistake made in her routine, but it was Break Sk8 who ultimately paid the price for their lack of “Broadway” in their final appearance.

Now with only the top three crews remaining, Kaba Modern, Jabbawockeez, and Status Quo, the competition reaches its pinnacle because of the theme for their upcoming battle. The show shifts its focus to old school hip hop and you can bet that the expectations for their performances will be at an all time high. I expect all three judges to rain down hard on any crew who falls even a tad bit short of their A game. Its crunch time and its time to raise the bar.

Prediction for next week: I expect the final two crews to be Kaba Modern and the Jabbawockeez. Status Quo looked great and they deserve to be in the top 3, but I don’t think they have nearly the same talent level the two other crews bring to the table.

Although I did enjoy the opening collaborative number, I think that the crew performances suffered as a result. Kaba was given a good song this outing, but I think that the footwork was unimpressive. If they can produce a performance as good as the one they did on movie week, they will be in the top two. It all came together that week. They acted, they had great choreography, the energy was great, and the girls were hellah sexy. The two weeks following that have not been on par. On the other hand, Jabba hasn’t been letting up. Beyond the choreography, those guys do really entertaining interviews. There is no doubt in my mind that Jabba is going to take it.

I’m in agreement that Jabba will take it, but stranger things have happened. I wonder if the judges will determine the FINAL winner as they save one out of every two at the end of the show.

Oh man, I love this show and watch it religiously. Good to see someone blogging on it. I only wrote post about it but it was about the lowly “Femme5″. Bleh.

Anyways, like Polaris, I thought the opening act was impressive as well. Even though I’m a fan of Break Sk8 I knew they weren’t going to win it all, but I was glad they made it as far as they did. Maybe something will come of that.

I am a big Kaba Modern fan, but I’ve been rootin for the Jabbawockeez since Day 1. I agree with your statements about Status Quo. Those guys are entertaining, but the other 2 groups pass them in talent.

It’s going to be tough to pick between Kaba Modern and Jabbawockeez. I’m almost sure they will be the last 2 standing… how do you choose between them?

I am was so mad when Kaba Modern was put in the bottom two, but I am crossing my fingers that the judges will use their common sense and make the final two them and the Jabba’s.

However, looking at a lot of their decisions in the past, I can sadly see them pushing Status Quo into the final two. My friends and I said if that happened we would be sending MTV and those dumb judges a ton of hate mail.

I secretly love this show and I won’t even get into my unbridled passion for Mario Lopez. I think Jabba has the edge with those damn masks – so clever those kids.

I do have to concur that the past few shows, Kaba’s routines have been lacking as far as energy goes. I’ve seen some of their other performance in various contests. Their technical abilities and attention to detail are awesome. I think they are going to have to really go all out tonight. I think that is the only thing that has been a consistent critique from the judges… the energy level. Can you imagine their talent and coming out to do their routine with the energy and exuberance of Status Quo in two of their performances? It’d be insane. I’ve been rooting for Kaba and Jabba since the beginning. If Kaba goes all out tonight without a hitch, the final two will be Jabba and Kaba.

WTF?!?!?!?!? Status Quo was ranked #1!!!!! Kaba and Jabba have to battle it out!!!! That fuckin’ sucks!! What the hell?!?!?!?!?!? That’s bullshit!!!!!

  • Cynthia says:

wow..i totally agree..i was sooooo dissapointedd…ahh..well after watching the both dance crews dance i might have to say that Jaba is gonna take it..the energy they had was great..ive been rooting for kaba but who knows..ahhh…the anticipation..status quo definetly didnt deserve to be in the finale

On another note, their exiting comments by Mike were so classy. I am sure that most if not all of them will get picked up to do a video somewhere. I think Mike was the best of the Kaba bunch, and I’m almost 100% certain he is going to get some good opportunities.

Status Quo being #1 was the worst. Kaba’s last performance was sick too! man….. I officially hate SQ!
