UFC 77: Anderson Silva smashes Rich Franklin again…

anderson_champA year of preparation and fighting in his hometown of Cincinnati Ohio could not save him from Anderson “The Spider” Silva’s Muay Thai clinch and devastating knees. It took just two short rounds to dispatch the once “Unstoppable Ace” Rich Franklin in UFC 77.

Now there should be no question as to who reigns supreme in the UFC middleweight division. After his display of dominance a second time, it would not be unreasonable to assume that Silva will remain the middleweight champion for quite sometime.

The question that remains in everyone’s mind now is, whats next for Franklin? Many called this fight the make it or break it bout of his career. Now that Franklin has lost for a 2nd straight time against The Spider, it may be time to rethink his career or try to win in an alternate weight class similar to what Randy Couture did after losing twice to Chuck Liddell.

I would hate to see this be the last fight for Franklin. He’s an incredible fighter and has had such a phenomenal career. It just seems that Silva has his number.
