I started using Adsense last year on my blog to try to cover the costs of my webhosting. I’m glad I did. I’ve made a little over a grand this year just implementing it on 7milesdown. Not too bad if you ask me. I’ve been able to purchase a legitimate copy of photoshop for my graphics, buy a couple DVD’s, and still had enough left over to pay for my hosting and domain name. Anyone who owns a blog should have this service implemented. It works, its free, its legit, and google does pay on time. I have not tried Yahoo’s version of their ad services yet, but I heard it works just as well.
Google has also upgraded their search program via adsense as well. Googles embedded search on your blog used to take visitors away from your site to get search results. Now the results appear within your site to keep visitors within your page. I think this is a great update and Im planning on implementing it here on 7milesdown in the near future.
Ya, this seems a familiar story. Trying to do the same.
wow! it really does work? man,. your one lucky guy! a grand !!

Awh, I wish it worked for me. It worked a little bit when I first put my portfolio site up, but now that I haven’t updated in a long time… I don’t get any hits off it at all. It’s a bit tougher for me that I can’t really advertise my blog that much since I am trying to keep it from overly inquisitive eyes… long story, not sure if you know… but it’s the reason why I sort of stopped writing for a while too. Anyway… I agree, it does work! Just not for everybody :T
wow, congratulations! it’s nice to hear someone actually earning from Adsense. I also incorporated it into my blog but because of the many incidents involving my blog, changing urls, lost entries, etc. and plus the fact that i don’t have that much hits or traffic on my page to generate income. plus my entries aren’t really the ones that people search for in search engines. Adsense doesn’t work for everybody. :)
thanks!! i just signed up. wise advice my friend :)
I just signed up and am trying to implement them yet for some reason all they show are public service ads. Any idea why?
I’ve tried in the past to monetize my site in the hope that I would simply break even with hosting costs and domain registration, but find it difficult to integrate the code cleanly into my site in a classy manner. Mind you, I have a limited understanding as to how not to break the code, so that might be the problem.
It works guys. It just takes time. I didnt start earning much right away. My first couple months I earned less than $20.00
I have an adsense account but for now I’m keeping ads off the site, I dont mind the low cost of hosting domain. But eventually I’m gonna integrate ads on the site.
They deleted my adsense. Seems someone didn’t like me or something and kept clicking the ads to get me into trouble. Now google wont reinstate my account. That sucks. Oh well…
I can’t believe you’ve made so much off of google ad sense. That could easily help pay for Shaq’s education. I think I might just do that once femtique gets higher ratings from Technorati and the Truth Laid Bear.
April, actually my earnings have doubled since November. lol. I’ve been earning on average about $10.00 a day. I do ping my blog regularly when I update and I just happen to stumble on content that users are very interested in that gets a load of hits.
The longer you have your site the better the program works from what I can see. 7milesdown has been up since 2001 and has done very well with adsense just the past year or so.
