To be honest, I never planned on watching this film. It just wasn’t on my list of movies to see. Im very glad that my wife sat me down to view it with her. It was one of those comedies that actually had some substance to it.
Stuck on You was directed by the Farrelly Brothers, so originally I expected alot of crude humor and tasteless jokes. Im sure we all remember their masterpiece, Dumb and Dumber. To my surprise, Stuck on You was exactly the opposite of those films. The film still managed to makeyou laugh, but the humor in the film made you laugh along side the characters rather than directly at them. I found this extremely significant because the story focuses on the lives of two conjoined twins.
What caught me off guard was the ability of the film to pull you closer to the twins. You are actually able to feel the bond and tenderness between two brothers, and experience their commitment to each others happiness. Its a very geniune feel good type comedy. Matt Damon, Greg Kinnear, and Eva Mendes all played their roles very well. I thought it provided enough heart and character development to make it an enjoyable experience for its audience.
synopsis:
Stuck On You is a Farrelly’s Brothers comedy about a pair Siamese twins who have their own everything but are joined at the hip because they share a liver. They use their unique gift in a means to gain acceptance and live as normally as possible within everyday life. Everything is going great until Walt follows his dreams of making it as a Hollywood actor, and persuades his hesitant brother Bob to go along for the ride. Hollywood may never be the same as Bob and Walt find fame, love and a new outlook on their unusual but inseparable bond.
I’ve actually wanted to see this film. As usual, great review!
I have been meaning to watch this film again, but recently, I have forgotten about it. You are awesome for reminding me again about this movie.
At first I was a bit iffy on seeing it, because I do not remember seeing Matt Damon (I almost wrote ‘Demon’.. hmm..) doing comedy. I tend to remember more of his serious roles.
Well, I will definitely give this movie a try. Thanks for the review. Comedies with substanc are always a good thing!
I remember seeing a bit of this movie on my Satellite TV one day, but I can’t say it made me laugh… maybe I wasn’t in the mood for it. Great layout btw… I feel so out of the loop!!
