Payless Paydays

You know what pisses me off the most? People who pass the buck and blame everyone else for their mistakes but themselves. On Guam we have a school board who blames everyone else but themselves for all the mishaps our school system has been running into.

Right now we’ve been threatened with payless paydays. The school board does not know where all the money went. The federal government is currently withholding close to $40 milllion dollars of federal grant money for our schools. Why? The school board decided to cut out programs that were required to be implemented to continue federally funded programs.

The board elected and fired a really good Superintendent of Education in the wee hours of the morning. Why? The board and the Superintendent didn’t see eye to eye. I really dont understand why all of this is happening.

The bottomline is this board is playing with the livelihoods of hundreds of employees and more importantly with the education of our children. Maybe its time for them to stop pointing fingers and start solving problems. Better yet, maybe its time for them to step down so we can get people on the board who can help us instead of hurt us.

It’s tough, this world… sometimes there just seems to be so much evil winning that it’s hard to remember that the good will win. Sometimes though… bad things have to happen to good people for it all to happen. Have faith my dear friend.

it’s easy to blame or point a finger at someone than admitting that it’s one’s fault. it takes a lot of honesty and truth to do that. and sad to say, these days, a lot of people rather compromise the truth for their personal interests. maybe you and your fellow teachers and other staff can file a petition and get the current board of members to step down or be replaced.

awesome theme! see, you even got a better looking theme than i do. hehe :)

The board should step down instead. The education sector is no place for self-serving close-mimded greedy people.

I wish the best of luck to your fellow school employees and your families.

The sad part about this is that the problem is lying within the people who are in charge of the educational system in that school, not the children. It means that the problem can hinder the sole purpose of a school, which is to educate children.

It’s easy to point fingers to others rather than point it at ourselves. To take responsibility takes a lot of putting things aside, especially pride. It is horrible, what pride can do. I just hope the situation straightens out before it gets any worse. =/
