Soldiers of Ja Army Concert

When I first heard SOJA, I was immediately hooked. I searched for every album I could get my hands on. SOJA, a American reggae band based out of Washington D.C. released their debut album in 2000, but the first album that I actually heard was from their 2003 album entitled Peace in a time of War. Their songs “Rasta Courage” and “True Love” became huge hits here on Guam, but their songs “Look Within” and “Peace in a Time of War” was what made me a real fan.

SOJA
has all the vibes in their music to make it appealing. Their latest album “Get Wiser” is probrably the best album that they’ve released and that tells alot about the maturity of the group. The current song from the album “Can’t Tell Me” is whats blowing up on our local airways right now.

What I love about reggae in general is the songs are very social conscience. They tell stories about whats going on in the real world. It criticizes world issues through the poetry of music. SOJA is one of the best roots reggae bands I’ve heard in sometime. Im looking forward to their concert today! I’ll try to add some samples of music to my blog in the next couple days.

The songs are in mono quality so that it streams faster. They are not good enough to burn on a CD so go out there and buy the album!
