Blast from the Past

I was diggin’ through my hard drive just trying to clean things up and found some photos I had scanned for a slideshow for our wedding last year. The photos were so funny. It brought back alot of old memories. The photos above were taken between 1997 and 1999. I met Melissa at a Mobil gas station in May of ’97 and I have such a clear picture of how she looked when she saw some strange guy waving at her while she walked out to pump her gas. She looked pretty scared of me that day. I dont blame her either, I looked pretty scary too, and not in the good way either. lol.

It is really amazing at just how fast time flies past you when you don’t pay attention. We look pretty different now, and I’ve put on some weight! haha. I weighed just 120ibs back in ’97. Im now at around 185ibs and still bulking up. Melissa was at a anorexic size. She was under 100 pounds and wore a size zero in jeans! How times have changed.

  1. it’s always fun to look at old photos especially of yourself or your family members. you can’t help but laugh at yourself, your hairstyle, clothes, etc. it’s nice to reminisce once in a while. nice photos man. :)

  2. aww how cute. i have been with my boyfriend for 7 yrs and we look extremely different back then, too. i think its comforting to age with someone!

  3. Awww… you guys STILL look great my friend!

I think we all change. I look at pictures of my Husband and I from high school like prom and winter formal and stuff and OMG, we’ve changed too. For the better of course. I looked like a GEEK!

Aging is not so bad. LOL

    ;-)

  4. Trench,

Melissa is even prettier if I may say so. And you friend, you been eatin some wheaties it seems!

I’ve changed in 16 years of marriage myself. Balding, big belly.. how time flies ;)

  5. we thought about doing a slide show for our wedding but never got around to doing one. time does fly once you get married…probably has something to do with getting older as well.

  6. Wow she was pretty skinny back then… still pretty but damn she’s sexy now (no I’m not a lesbian, I just know how to appreciate a good looking woman). You DID look pretty damn scary back then!

  7. What kind of youth elixir did you take man? It looks like — in the after photos — that you guys haven’t aged at all. :)

I just love looking back at old photos of me and wondering what I was thinking when the photo was being taken, or what I was doing at that particular point in time.

The true blast to the past experience will be when you look at photos of yourselves 50 years from now. Now that will be a trip to yesteryear!

  8. Hey trench. fancy meeting you here. i clicked on you link and just skimmed your blog. clicked on the picture of you and your wife. WOW! I went to U of G with you two. I was the “white” girl. we did computer projects and chamoru projects together. my family moved back to chicago.

glad to hear you are married. hope you are doing well. if you are ever in chicago, let me know!
