The Season of Lent

Im no longer a practicing catholic, but I do try to follow the guidelines for Lent. What did you give up for Lent? This year I gave up Rice and Beer. Its gonna be a tough 45 days for me. Every Asian knows that rice is a must with your meals. Beer? Its gonna be tough drinking water while watching my friends pound away.

  1. I’ve given up chocolate. I really should give up something else… but I can’t really think of anything. :( Swearing maybe?

Did you remember not to eat meat today??

Oh and I’m only doing it for 40 days… how come you’re doing it for 45??

  2. I’m not a catholic. :-)
but WHOAH! You sacrificed beer? Dude! You ‘da man! I know it’s hard for a guy to do that.
    Props for ya!

    ps. Great new look, btw.

  3. Polaris: Yep. Chivas and Coke it is. Problem is, the boys from the vil dont drink that stuff. Its just beer. When you get back, we gonna have to hit up some hard stuff.

La Bella: Yeah, it is tough. Watching beer passed around every 10 minutes or so is gonna drag for me. Lent is pretty long! haha

  4. I was raised as a Catholic and I went through my 1st Communion and Confirmation but I have to admit that I don’t attend services as much as I would like to.

Giving up rice? That’s a tough one. I’m Hispanic and we all know how we eat rice too.
