The Fantastic Four (DVD)

I remember collecting comics as a child. I had loads of Spiderman and X-Men comics. Daredevil and Ghost Rider were collectables, there were bits and pieces of Wolverine comics, and I even had a few Incredible Hulk issues. I never once read nor owned any Fantastic Four.

When this movie hit theaters, the only reason I would have bothered to watch it was the simple fact that Jessica Alba was in it. She is the hottest actress alive right now, and I love to watch her films. The Fantastic Four was a movie I had planned to watch in the theater, but I just never came around to it.

Back to the review. It may be a little biased since Im a Alba fan, but I thought the movie was enjoyable. Of course Jessica Alba in her tight ass costume really helped. (How low can I get right?) Marvel Studios seem to be getting comic book to bigscreen movies right. (I just wish someone would get video game turned movies right!) I’ve basically enjoyed all the X-Men, Hulk, Spiderman, and other comic films that have hit the bigscreen. This one is no exception. The acting was well done, the Special FX looked good, and the characters relationships were well drawn out. All in all it was a solid effort by everyone and I highly recommend this film. Mission Accomplished.

When an experimental space voyage goes awry, four people are changed by cosmic rays. Reed Richards, inventor and leader of the group gains the ability to stretch his body, and takes the name, Mr. Fantastic. His girlfriend, Sue Storm, gains the ability to turn invisible and create force fields, calling herself the Invisible Woman. Her younger brother Johnny Storm gains the ability to control fire, including covering his own body with flame, becoming the Human Torch. Pilot Ben Grimm is turned into a super-strong rock creature calling himself Thing. Together, they use their unique powers to explore the strange aspects of the world, and to foil the evil plans of Doctor Doom.

  1. hehe..i just watched this the other day and i agree with you..the movie was good..im glad i watched it coz i heard some people say that the movie sucked..well, it depends on the one watching it..as what you said, “Mission Accomplished”. what im hoping that they’d make into a movie is “Wildcats”, dunno if you’re familiar with that..the characters are Spartan, Zealot, Voodoo, Grifter, etc. the story is about the Daemonite and Kherubim war. :)

  2. yes, its the tight suit swaying your decision. jessica alba is hot but maybe a bit too young to play susan storm. i guess only a few hardcore fans will really notice or care. it had its moments but it coulda been so much better given its material to work with. hopefully part 2 is much better.
