Nampa Boys

There is a huge sub-culture that is growing here on Guam that involves men picking up Japanese women for dates and sex. The word “nampa” when asked to define, is almost always associated with “Girl Hunting”. Japanese Girl Hunting. It has become so popular, that I’ve actually met several men who have claimed to have had sex with over 300 Japanese. This may seem unbelievable for some, but after talking with them, you can just sense that they are telling the truth.

Many of these men who nampa usually get into the culture because they have a hard time picking up women, or they simply find pleasure in “playin the game” and ultimately taking home the grand prize. It has been said that some nampa boys are so good at what they do, that they
are able to acquire the attention of 1 out of 5 women they speak to.

There are many misconceptions about the nampa boys here on Guam. Although there are many who are out for casual sex, I’ve also seen quite a few who are in the hunt for a steady girlfriend.

In reality I think that nampa is simply another name for the art of flirting. Nampa boys basically do the same things that all of us men attempt to do. Talk to women, get them interested, and start some sort of relationship whether casual or serious. Nampa boys just happen to focus their attention on Japanese women.

I’ve seen alot of sites who focus on nampa techniques. They also discuss their experiences and brag about their conquests. But I have yet to understand how this is different from non-nampa “players” or playboys. Honestly, I think its all the same!

A huge site that discusses Nampa Life is on this site. There is alot of explict photos on the site, but some very interesting information about techniques to properly pick up women. I found some of it to be very funny. Guam also has its site that discusses the nightlife here. Its funny because several of my friends names always pop up in the conversations. If you want to view these sites in English, you’ll need a translator. A friend of mine recommends BabelFish Translation. It worked out well for me.

NOTE:
I am not a nampa boy. I just found it interesting that many of my friends were doing it and I was curious to find out more about it. Im a happily married man! :)
