Luckily for me, movies go from the big screen to DVD’s. After months of wanting to watch this film, I finally was able to scoop up a copy. The critics were right. It lacked the charm of the first two films.
Okay, lets begin with my review. We have this dude named Dracula (thats original). He is the original vampire. He disappeared from the world for thousands of years because he was bored of it. (Good stuff so far!) They (the evil vampires) summon him (Dracula) to kill Blade the Vampire Slayer. Okay cool, I can deal with that. Dracula complains about being awaked. “Why did you awaken me? Do you think I care? You guys make me sick!”…. Anyway, to make a long story short, Dracula ends up helping the vampires because they are so pathetic and cant do it alone. Which is entirely true. The vampires in this movie were just pathetic. But the lackluster plot wasnt the reason this movie went to shit. There are many fans that enjoy the simple pleasure of watching Blade kick ass. Unfortunately that didn’t happen.
The reason this film lost alot of its fanbase was due to the fact that Blade wasn’t at the center of all the action. They introduced two more heros to help him. Come on now! Blade is the man! He is the MAN! He doesn’t need no damn kids to help him fight Dracula. They made Blade look like a pussy who couldn’t hold his own weight. Most Blade fans I know come to see Blade. Not some hot girl shooting arrows (she is hot) or a sidekick who steals all the jokes. Blade was just not the center of attention in this film. It took away everything that made the Blade franchise so special.
